Application Information
Application procedures
- Prerequisites: Applicants must have completed or be scheduled to complete an ACGME-accredited residency in pediatrics, internal medicine/pediatrics, or emergency medicine.
- Applicants must be board certified/board eligible in general pediatrics with the American Board of Pediatrics or in emergency medicine with the American Board of Emergency Medicine by July of the year they would begin fellowship
- Foreign trained applicants: Foreign trained applicants must hold or convert to a J1 visa.
- Application submission: Applications and supporting documents should be submitted through ERAS. Applications are accepted until Nov. 1.
- Match: We participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Applicants register with the NRMP directly. We accept two fellow per academic year.
Application components
- Personal statement
- Letters of recommendation (LOR): Three LORs are required; a maximum of four will be accepted. One LOR must be submitted by the applicant's residency program director or department chair. One LOR must be submitted by a pediatric emergency medicine physician who has worked with the applicant for a sufficient duration to provide a meaningful evaluation. The other LOR(s) may come from any physician the applicant chooses. ERAS Letter of Recommendation Portal
- Medical school transcript
- Medical school dean's letter
- Copies of USMLE or COMLEX scores
- Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate (if applicable)
- Copy of immigration visa (if applicable)
